Vegan Delights

By Jamie Ong Zhi Jing (12029369)

My beloved roommate has got this amazing idea. She woke up this morning decided that we should get on to a diet. So, since vegetarian food is much healthier than meat, we decided to go for a try. We went for a 10 minutes’ walk from SUN-U Apartment to Sunway Pyramid. Upon walking into Sunway Pyramid, we spotted this vegan restaurant named SIMPLE LIFE. They serve organic, healthy vegetarian food. The waiters are friendly; we are seated upon our arrival.
The atmosphere in Simple Life restaurant is cozy, it has bright lights on the ceiling and the plus point of it is, the lights are not too dimmed. Thus, it sort of creates a relaxing atmosphere for the customers (well in this case, will be my roommie and I) to dine in. Our food is served within a 20 minutes time since our arrival which I would rate an A+ for that.

Rating for the dishes! I give you an A+ LOL!

First dish of all, organic Lei Cha. Lei Cha, a traditional Chinese Hakka dish, it is a dish with rice, peanuts, tofu and assorted vegetables. You would need to stir in the mixture of “cha” (which means tea in mandarin) into the rice and combine it with the rest of the ingredients. The “cha” is made out of Chinese basil leaves and nuts, grounded together to form a greenish liquid base type of mixture. The texture of that is rich, apart from being light; it gives a rich and nutty taste. I spotted few red beans and barley inside the dish, indeed, it’s a healthy dish!

Rich and spicy vegetables curry with pratha. I like that the curry is a little bit sour, while the spiciness are in moderation. The buttery taste of the pratha sort of holds the dish together.  Plus point of this dish is the crunchiness of vegetables is in perfection. Love it! A rich and typical Malaysian taste of dish!

Third dish of ours-- Fried organic bean curd. Crunchy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside, it came with a Thai style sauce which has provided an additional flavor, a touch of spiciness and sweetness as well to the plain and tasteless bean curd.  Another normal dish that tastes extraordinary.

Finally! Finish tasting, I’m so full but satisfied! Spotted that satisfying smile? LOL

Special thanks to my roommate! Smile!

Bottom’s up! What a nice meal! A perfect ending with a cup of mixed fruit juice (apple + celery + cucumber + capsicum + bitter gourd and honey. I know, it’s a lot) .Oops, and I forgot to say, CHEERS PEOPLE!

Wanna try? The location is at Sunway Pyramid, LG2.126, Lower Ground 2, Blue Zone. Kindly call 012-236 5423 to book the place for your dinner. =)
